The brief

Country houses need joinery that is generous, robust and entirely in keeping with the building. Our clients wanted a kitchen, panelling, staircase and door joinery that would share a language and feel intrinsic to the house. The breadth of the work made careful design and accurate setting-out essential across characterful, irregular rooms.

What we designed and made

We designed, made and installed the kitchen, panelling, staircase and door joinery, each set out to its space and scribed to the building. The stair and panelling were detailed to suit the proportions of the house, and the kitchen planned around country living. Made in our workshop and installed by our own team to a precise standard.

Materials and craftsmanship

Solid and painted timber was used as each element demanded, hand-finished to a high standard with quality ironmongery. Materials were chosen for durability and a finish that mellows with age — and the work has stood the test of time.

The result

The completed joinery gave the house generous storage and real cohesion, and continues to serve it well. It is a long-standing example of the country-house joinery we deliver across Essex and the region.
