The brief

Country houses ask for joinery that is generous, hard-wearing and entirely in keeping with the building. Our clients wanted a kitchen, library, wardrobes and panelling that would share a language and feel as though they had always been part of the house. The work had to be resolved within characterful rooms with the irregularities that come with age.

What we designed and made

We designed, made and installed the kitchen, library, wardrobes and panelling, each drawn in CAD and scribed to walls and floors that are rarely square. The library and panelling were detailed to suit the period and proportions of the house, and the kitchen planned around how the family lives. Made in our Suffolk workshop and installed by our own team.

Materials and craftsmanship

A mix of painted and natural timber finishes was used to suit each room, on solid framing and well-built carcasses with quality ironmongery. Materials were chosen for durability and a finish that improves with age, as country-house joinery should.

The result

The completed joinery gives the house generous storage and real character, with the library and kitchen as natural highlights. It illustrates the country-house joinery we deliver across Oxfordshire and the wider region.
