Sporting Cabinetmakers — Our Gun Room Workshop
Gun rooms, gun cabinets and sporting storage now trade under their own name, with their own site.
Part of the Reeve & Co Group
Gun storage has been made at Mickfield for years, and quietly became one of the things this workshop is best known for. It has now been given a dedicated team and a site of its own: Sporting Cabinetmakers, covering fitted gun rooms, steel-lined rooms, firearms doors clad to match the joinery around them, bespoke cabinets, ammunition and cartridge storage, and fishing and rod rooms.
The work is architectural joinery with a security specification on top, so it is made on the same benches by the same cabinetmakers. What the separate name buys is a proper conversation about the things that only matter here: what your firearms enquiry officer will accept, how blued steel behaves in a damp room, and how a collection grows.
Which one should you talk to?
If the gun room or the cabinet is the project, go straight to Sporting Cabinetmakers.
If it is one line on a longer schedule alongside panelling, a library or wardrobes, start here and we will bring the sporting element in from inside the project.

Five names, one workshop
Square & True, Bryn Hall, Sporting Cabinetmakers and Fire & Oak are trading names of Reeve & Co Interiors Ltd. Old Fashioned Bathrooms is the bathroom company in the same yard at Mickfield. We keep them separate because someone looking for a kitchen, a dining table, a gun cabinet or an outdoor kitchen is better served by a specialist than by a category page — but the drawings, the bench and the spray shop are the same, so finishes match across whatever you order.

What does Sporting Cabinetmakers make?
Bespoke gun cabinets, gun cupboards and sporting storage, made as fine furniture in timber matched to the rest of a client’s joinery.
Why is a gun cabinet made as furniture?
It gives a country house storage that meets security requirements without a steel box hidden in a cupboard. Always check the current security and storage requirements that apply to you.
Send us the drawings, or call the workshop
Architects, designers, contractors and private clients are all welcome. Send your drawings or a brief and we will come back with a clear, honest view of scope, programme and cost.
